Winners of the competition of 2010 for educational grants of the Yerzhan Tatishev Foundation for young disabled people

Akaul Madina

Madina is from Semei city. She lives with her mother and sister who is a college student. Madina suffers from congenital heart disease. She studied well at school, then she entered college at SSU after Shakarim, “Ecology and organization of effective nature usage” specialty.

Madina likes photographing, she creates frames for photos. She reads fiction literature. Despite disabilities Madina enjoys dancing, goes to a swimming pool, and plays bowling. Smiling and friendly girl, striving to be successful in life Madina does not stand apart from the public life. She is actively involved in various activities organized by the Centre for work with young people with disabilities.

Audanbekov Akhat

Akhat lives in Almaty with his parents and sister. Akhat has cerebral spastic infantile paralysis. He graduated from correctional boarding school №2. Akhat has won a scholarship from Yerzhan Tatishev Foundation and entered the Polytechnic college, “Technique and programming” specialty.

One of the favorite hobbies of Akhat is ping pong. He plays it for several years. Akhat showed excellent results playing for his team in national competitions in his category. Teachers underline his purposefulness and optimism. Akhat believes that every person, despite possible limitations, can make a significant contribution to a society. And his main goal in life is to prove it.

Baibusinov Sultan

Sultan is from Almaty city. He graduated from correctional boarding school №2. He has cerebral spastic infantile paralysis. There are four people in his family. Sultan entered Almaty College of Management and Market, “Computer science” specialty.

Sultan is interested in swimming and music, loves literature. Teachers speak of him positively, especially mention his purposefulness, persistence and desire to move forward. Despite the challenges, he was able to overcome himself and gradually stopped using supporting means of transportation. He has special passion for IT-technologies. In the future he dreams to open his own company to assemble and repair computers.

Grachev Petr

Petr lives in Almaty in a big family. His parents have five children. From this academic year, thanks to the scholarship of “Yerzhan Tatishev Foundation”, he has become a student of Almaty Industrial College in the “Programming” specialty.

Petr is interested in computers; he finished courses on computer customizing. He is well versed in electrical machines, and is proud that he can fix almost everything. Petr actively does different kinds of sport, but he especially likes ping pong, where he has achieved significant success. Sport for him is the way to express his personality. Peter is a Candidate for Master of Sports in his category.

Dobryshkina Yulia

Yulia lives with her parents and brother in Almaty. Despite cerebral spastic infantile paralysis she studied well at school (lyceum №28). She entered Almaty State Business College, “Finance” specialty.

Yulia does swimming, yoga, she is interested in chess. Thanks to her inner persistence and great strength of will, she was able to overcome all difficulties and has already achieved particular results despite serious injury that she got in the childhood. Self-confident, friendly and open to everything new, Julia wants to be a good specialist in her chosen profession.

Zhiyenbekov Kanat

Kanat lives in Almaty with his mother and two brothers. He finished school with good grades. Kanat wants to be a programmer after graduating from the Almaty Industrial College where he is going to study with the scholarship of the Yerzhan Tatishev Foundation.

Kanat have unusual for nowadays hobby – carpentry work. He actively does sports such as table tennis, darts, for which he has several awards and memorable gifts. In addition to this he also enjoys playing chess and checkers. His sports coach described Kanat as “persistent, hardworking and optimistic in life”.
