On April 14, 2010 Irina Mikhalchenko, a scholar of the Foundation, participated in the 6th International Student Conference in Izmir, Turkey
Each of us, scholars, seeking to become a leader and professional. It requires constant strengthening of knowledge and self-improvement.
Yerzhan Tatishev Foundation gave me an opportunity to study in one of the best universities. I believe that the university gives a start to prosperous future. My university does provide a solid launching pad. In UIB student initiative and projects are actively encouraged and supported.
Being first-year students we as a group of like-minded activists decided to organize a scientific and research club “UIB Financiers’ Club”. One of the work directions of the Club is scientific and research activity. We conduct additional study of educational material, write research papers and participate in the Olympiads, conferences, round tables and so on. In addition, we look for and keep track of scientific conferences, both within Kazakhstan and abroad.
On April 14, 2010 the 6th International Student Conference was held in Izmir University of Economics, Turkey. Students and young scientists from all around the world took part in the event. The main purpose of the conference was “to offer a platform for discussion and exchange of ideas among students from different fields of social sciences throughout the world”.
The conference participants’ works went through several qualifying rounds. More than 200 works from all around the world were considered. And only slightly more than 60 participants were invited to the conference. The conference was held on several sections: state building and democratization after the collapse of the USSR, international trade, marketing management, logistics management, economics and finance. During the conference the participants had an opportunity to present their work, get acquainted with other interesting projects, expand knowledge in the proposed areas, meet interesting people and share knowledge, ideas and experiences.
On the next day organizers arranged a trip to the ancient city of Ephesus for the participants of the conference. It got remembered by all participants. There you could learn a lot about the rich history of people inhabited theses lands, feel the touch of antiquity and enjoy the greatness and beauty of ancient temples, fountains, palaces, Tselmius Polenemus library and, of course, an amphitheater. In addition to rich impressions and beautiful pictures this trip left lots of positive emotions, smiles, and, most important, many new friends!
This conference gave me invaluable experience. I understood that work on research projects is not only useful but also extremely interesting and exciting, and in the end, apart from scientific achievements, it can bring rich experience, the sea of vivid impressions and new friends around the world!
